Remi Garde frustrated with West Ham United draw

Remi Garde talks of his frustration after watching his Aston Villa side only take a point away from their game with West Ham United.

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has spoken of his frustration at seeing his side take just a point from their Boxing Day clash with West Ham United.

Aaron Cresswell's first-half strike was cancelled out by the hosts on the hour mark when Jordan Ayew scored from the spot after Rudy Gestede was brought down in the area.

The Villans went on to dominate in terms of possession and chances but were ultimately forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

"When you look at the game, to be fair, we deserved more," Garde told reporters afterwards. "West Ham defended very well. We knew they would because they had three clean sheets in a row. We knew it would be difficult to score goals.

"But the feeling is more frustration, to be fair. When you played like we played and we gave it more than 100%, we deserved more than that."

The point leaves Aston Villa rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, nine points from safety and without a league win in a club-record 17 games.
