Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan insists that his side will show the same respect for Reading as they did for Arsenal last weekend.

Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan has insisted that Reading will provide tough opposition when the two sides meet on Tuesday night.

Villa earned a point at home to Arsenal at the weekend but the 22-year-old has insisted that he and his teammates must show the same respect for each Premier League side, irrespective of their league position.

Bannan said: "I've not seen much of Reading. I've seen a couple of games they've had on television. But it's one of the best leagues in the world.

"You are not just going to turn up on Tuesday and turn teams over because they've just been promoted.

"They are going to be battling for their lives so it is going to be a tough game and we will show them the same respect as Arsenal at the weekend."

Both Villa and Reading are currently in the relegation zone of the Premier League table.
