AS Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has praised the talents of Dimitar Berbatov after the Bulgarian signed a contract extension at the club.

Berbatov has made his mark on the team since moving from Fulham, having managed to replace some of the goals lost after Radamel Falcao's injury.

"With AS Monaco, Dimitar has shown all his talent and has been able to put these qualities at the disposal of the team," said Vasilyev, according to the official Ligue 1 website.

"He's a great player and we're proud to count him among our number for next season."

Monaco are looking to finish this season with their highest-ever points tally in Ligue 1.
