Leonardo Jardim blames missed chances for failure to beat Reims

Leonardo Jardim admits that his Monaco side were not clinical enough during Friday's 1-1 draw with Reims in Ligue 1.

Leonardo Jardim has claimed that a lack of a cutting edge cost his AS Monaco side victory against Reims on Friday night.

Benjamin Moukandjo scored a late equaliser to snatch a 1-1 draw for Reims, and Jardim believes that his inexperienced side should have wrapped up the win before being denied in the closing stages.

"We had lots of chances to score the second goal," the Monaco boss told reporters. "Football is like that. When you don't score the second, the opposition counter-attack and score.

"It is not the first time that the team has created lots of chances, but we are not clinical enough. We have lots of chances in every match.

"It is two points lost, but the team must continue. I think that one day we will score two goals from three chances. But to do that, the youngsters need a bit more experience and a bit more maturity in front of goal."

Monaco are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions and have climbed to seventh in the Ligue 1 table.
