West Ham United enter Virgil van Dijk race?

West Ham United reportedly join London rivals Arsenal in the race to sign Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk.

West Ham United have reportedly entered the race to sign Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk.

The 23-year-old Dutchman has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his squad at the back.

However, the Hammers are now keen to bring the highly-rated centre-back to Upton Park, according to talkSPORT.

Scottish champions Celtic are understood to want around £7m for Van Dijk, who joined the club from Groningen in June 2013 for around £2.5m.

Van Dijk has three years remaining on his current contract with the Hoops.
