Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto is reportedly set to sign a new short-term contract with the club this week.
The 30-year-old has been strongly linked with an exit from Camp Nou as his current deal is due to expire at the end of this month.
Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City and clubs in the MLS have all previously been credited with an interest in Roberto and are believed to have been keeping tabs on his situation in Catalonia.
However, Relevo journalist Toni Juanmarti claims that Roberto will put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension, after receiving approval from head coach Xavi, and an announcement is set to be made by Barca on Friday.
Roberto endured an injury-hit 2021-22 campaign and subsequently featured in only 12 games for the Catalan giants across all competitions.
The 11-cap Spain international has been with Barca since the age of 14 and he has made a total of 316 appearances for the club in all tournaments, scoring 12 goals and providing 37 assists.
