Report: Arsenal to move for Morgan Schneiderlin

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin could be the subject of a sizeable January transfer bid from Arsenal, according to reports.

Arsenal are ready to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of Morgan Schneiderlin with a sizeable January bid for the French midfielder, according to reports.

The 25-year-old, who came close to joining Tottenham last summer, is still being pursued by both north London clubs, though Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that he is not willing to let Schneiderlin leave.

However, Arsenal are determined to land a defensive midfielder in January and are readying an offer for the Saints star, claims the Daily Star.

Schneiderlin, who has seven caps for France, has been with Southampton since joining from RC Strasbourg in 2008.
