Arsenal have reportedly taken their first step towards signing Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax by tabling an £8m offer for the defender.
The Gunners are understood to have prioritised landing a new left-back in the January transfer window after recently being left short in that position.
Tagliafico, previously linked with a switch to Newcastle United, represented Argentina at the World Cup during the summer and has impressed for Ajax in the Eredivisie this season
Calciomercato suggests that Arsenal are leading the pursuit for the 26-year-old, with an offer already having been tabled.
It is claimed that Ajax expect interest in Tagliafico to grow, however, meaning that his valuation could rise come the start of 2019.
