Olivier Giroud 'allowed to leave Arsenal'

A report claims that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will allow France striker Olivier Giroud to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly prepared to allow Olivier Giroud to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The 30-year-old only started 11 Premier League matches for Arsenal during the 2016-17 campaign, but he still managed 12 goals in England's top flight, and 16 in all competitions for the season.

Giroud only signed a new contract with the Gunners during the January transfer window, but according to The Gambling Times, head coach Wenger will allow the France international to depart for the right price before the start of the 2017-18 campaign.

The same report claims that West Ham United lead the race for Giroud, who is expected to feature in Tuesday's international friendly between France and England.

Earlier this month, Giroud admitted that he was unhappy with his lack of playing time last season, and would consider a move to a club where he was given a major role, which appeared to spark interest from West Ham.
