AC Milan's hopes of signing Lucas Torreira from Arsenal have reportedly suffered a big blow after it was confirmed that they will not be competing in Europe next season.
The Rossoneri, who finished fifth in Serie A last term, have been expelled from the Europa League for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.
Torreira had been linked with a move to San Siro in recent weeks and, according to Football.London, Milan's ban is good news for Unai Emery as a move now appears to be off the cards.
The report indicates that, while the Uruguay international wants to play at the highest level, he has not asked for a move away from North London.
Torreira is currently away on Copa America duty and is expected to start Uruguay's quarter-final against Peru on Saturday.
