Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes suggests that he has no intention of swapping clubs in January, despite strong speculation regarding a switch to Arsenal.

Arsenal target Bruno Guimaraes says that he is only focused on trying to move Lyon up the Ligue 1 standings.

The 24-year-old is expected to move to a bigger club at some stage of his career after enhancing his reputation since moving to Lyon in January 2020.

Guimaraes, who is keen to play in the Premier League, has acknowledged that Arsenal have expressed an interest in his signature in the past.

However, despite speculation regarding another approach from the Gunners, the Brazil international has suggested that he will see out the campaign in France.

Speaking to Globo Esporte, Guimaraes said: "It's normal to be mentioned like this when you are an Olympic champion, have been called up for the national team and are performing well individually.

"But I don't really like to think about it. I let my agent manage that. When the time comes, we'll talk about it again. The focus now is on moving up the league table and putting Lyon in the correct position."

Guimaraes has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at the Groupama Stadium.
