Chelsea will reportedly consider a move for Villarreal's Samuel Chukwueze if they are unable to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
The Blues have long been linked with Sancho, but it is thought that Manchester United are at the head of the queue for the England international, who has again starred for BVB this term.
According to Goal, should Frank Lampard's side miss out on a deal for the 20-year-old then they could attempt to bring Chukwueze to Stamford Bridge during this summer's transfer window.
The 21-year-old, who has contributed four goals and four assists in 30 outings at club level this season, recently revealed that Chelsea were his favourite club.
Liverpool and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the Nigeria international, who has a contract with the Yellow Submarine until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
Lampard's team could lose both Willian and Pedro on free transfers this summer, but they have already tied up a deal for Ajax's Hakim Ziyech.
