Arsenal youngster Xavier Amaechi to move to Germany?

Arsenal's 18-year-old forward Xavier Amaechi is reportedly close to a £2.2m move to Hamburg.

Arsenal youngster Xavier Amaechi has emerged as a transfer target for German club Hamburg.

The 18-year-old attacker has yet to make his first-team debut at the Emirates Stadium, but featured 14 times for the club's Under-23 side last season and scored four goals.

Amaechi was not called up by Gunners boss Unai Emery for the club's pre-season tour and has been linked with a move away, with Bayern Munich also reportedly showing interest.

According to German newspaper Bild, Hamburg have made an offer of £2.2m for the England Under-18 international.

The report suggests that the transfer could soon be completed ahead of their league season, which starts on Sunday against Darmstadt 98.

A move to Germany would see Amaechi become the latest young English talent to make a similar move, following on from the likes of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson.
