Arsenal 'walk away from Daniele Rugani deal'

A report claims that Arsenal have been unable to agree payment terms with Juventus for Daniele Rugani and will now look elsewhere for a new central defender.

Arsenal are reportedly considering other alternatives after ending their interest in Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.

The Gunners are searching for a new centre-back before the transfer window closes on Thursday evening after losing skipper Laurent Koscielny to Bordeaux.

Rugani was said to be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium, but The Sun reports that Arsenal were unable to agree payment terms with Juventus.

Arsenal allegedly wanted to take the Italy international on a two-year loan before making the move permanent in a £37m deal in 2021.

With their interest in Rugani over, the same report indicates that Unai Emery's men may now go all out to sign Samuel Umtiti on loan from Barcelona.
