Arsenal open Jackson Martinez talks with Porto?

Arsenal are understood to have opened talks with Porto over a £20m move for striker Jackson Martinez.

Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Porto over a move for striker Jackson Martinez.

The Gunners are thought to have been monitoring the Colombian international for the past 18 months as they look to boost their attacking options.

Manager Arsene Wenger has already contacted Porto in the hope that a £20m deal can be struck between the two clubs before the start of next season, according to The Metro.

However, it is understood that Porto could want around £35m for the highly-rated forward.

Martinez has scored 60 goals in 89 games for Porto following a move from Chiapas in 2012.
