Arsenal have reportedly expressed their interest in signing Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho in January.
The 29-year-old has endured a frustrating time at Camp Nou since his £142m move from Liverpool in 2018, and he is now widely expected to join a new club in one of the upcoming transfer windows.
Barca are believed to be 'desperate' to offload the Brazil international in January to reduce their wage bill, while head coach Xavi does not consider the midfielder as part of his long-term plans.
According to Sport, via Sports Witness, the Gunners are considering making an approach for Coutinho next month and believe a move to the Emirates Stadium would appeal to him.
Mikel Arteta's side may face stern competition from other Premier League teams, including Coutinho's former club Liverpool, North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur as well as Newcastle United.
Coutinho has made 106 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona, scoring 25 goals and providing 14 assists.
