Jack Wilshere to become Arsenal's new number 10

Jack Wilshere will wear Robin van Persie's number 10 shirt at Arsenal following the departure of the frontman to Manchester United.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been handed Robin van Persie's number 10 shirt following the striker's departure to Manchester United.

The club have confirmed that Wilshere, who was unable to compete in a single game last season due to an ankle injury, will replace the Dutchman, leaving new signing Santi Cazorla with Wilshere's number 19 shirt.

The former Gunners captain, who was unveiled at Old Trafford this afternoon, claimed that there are no hard feelings between himself and Arsenal.

The 29-year-old, who will wear the number 20 shirt, finalised his move to the former Premier League champions in what is believed to be a £24m deal earlier today.
