Emmanuel Petit backs Arsenal for Tottenham Hotspur response

Arsenal will put their Bayern Munich humiliation to one side and beat North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, according to ex-Gunner Emmanuel Petit.

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has tipped the Gunners to bounce back from their Bayern Munich humiliation and beat North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger's side welcome Spurs to the Emirates after being destroyed 5-1 on Champions League duty at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Arsenal have not suffered back-to-back defeats once this season, often responding positively to setbacks, and the former French ace hopes that this afternoon proves no different.

"They lost to West Ham and came back. They lost to Chelsea and came back. They lost to Olympiakos and came back. Now they have to do the same again," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"For me, this is the perfect match to have after Munich. It will be a passionate atmosphere and the chance for Arsenal to come back in front of their own fans."

Arsenal sit level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City.
