Ray Parlour: 'Wenger could come under pressure if Arsenal do not improve'

Ray Parlour feels Arsene Wenger could come under pressure this season if Arsenal fail to improve following a quiet summer transfer window.

Ray Parlour has suggested that Arsene Wenger could come under pressure this season if results go against him.

Wenger has been criticised for his lack of spending in this summer's transfer market after only bringing in Petr Cech from Chelsea.

Parlour feels if Arsenal fail to improve on recent seasons, Wenger could see himself come under scrutiny again.

"It'll be interesting to see what happens now because he'll be under pressure Arsene Wenger," Parlour is quoted as saying by HITC Sport.

"If they start losing a few games, they'll be looking back. It [the transfer window] started really well with Cech; I thought that was a great signing.

"Everyone was waiting for a big outfield player, they had Ozil two seasons ago, Sanchez last summer and it just didn't happen."

Arsenal host Stoke City in their next Premier League fixture.
