Shkodran Mustafi has backed new Arsenal teammate Lucas Perez to "help the team a lot" as the duo prepare to make their Premier League debuts for the London club.
Mustafi completed a move from Valencia in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, while Perez arrived from Deportivo La Coruna, and the pair are both available to face Southampton in the league this weekend.
Mustafi, who faced Perez during their time in La Liga, has said that the Spaniard is "uncomfortable to play against" and has "everything a striker needs" to form a strong career at the Emirates.
"He is uncomfortable to play against," Mustafi told Arsenal Player. "He's a good striker - he has everything a striker needs. He's someone you can play well with. He doesn't just run around and wait for someone to give him a pass to score a goal. He works a lot for the team as well and he creates chances.
"He's in the right place at the right time, as he showed last year in La Liga. I played there for two years and I know it's not that easy to score many goals in La Liga, because you have great defenders there as well. I think he's going to help the team a lot."
Perez scored 17 La Liga goals in 36 appearances for Depor during the 2015-16 campaign.
