Peter Crouch offers Theo Walcott support

Peter Crouch offers his support to Theo Walcott following the news that the winger is likely to miss this summer's World Cup with a serious knee injury.

Peter Crouch has offered his sympathy to Theo Walcott following the news that the England winger is likely to miss this summer's World Cup through injury.

Walcott has been ruled out for at least six months after suffering knee ligament damage during Arsenal's win over Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Crouch has now wished his former international teammate a quick recovery ahead of the tournament in Brazil.

"I'm gutted for Theo," the Stoke City striker told Sky Sports News. "He was an absolute banker to go to the World Cup and possibly start. Having experienced World Cups they are the pinnacle, really.

"They're fantastic to be a part of, so obviously I do feel sorry for him and I wish him a speedy recovery."

Arsenal confirmed on Monday that Walcott will undergo surgery "in the near future".
