Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech: 'We know how to stop Anthony Martial'

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech is impressed by Anthony Martial's start to life in the Premier League, but vows to keep him out when Manchester United come to town.

Petr Cech has backed his Arsenal teammates to deal with the threat of in-form striker Anthony Martial when Manchester United visit the Emirates on Sunday.

The 19-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm following a £36m move from AS Monaco on deadline day, netting three times and another in the Capital One Cup.

Though Cech acknowledges that the Frenchman has enjoyed a "fantastic start", the veteran goalkeeper says that the Gunners have done their homework on the starlet.

"It's always difficult when you change clubs and come to a big club with a lot of expectation," the 33-year-old told Arsenal's official website. "Everybody wants to see what you are made of but he had a fantastic start to his United career.

"Maybe the enthusiasm and excitement of moving to the Premier League helps at the start, but then people start expecting things from you and every day they keep reminding you that you are the main goalscorer. It was obviously a dream start for him and we have to make sure that doesn't continue on Sunday.

"We always watch footage of our opponents because the more information you get, the better picture you can have in your head during the game. If there are certain things which keep repeating in the game of any team, then it helps."

Victory for the sixth-placed North Londoners would see them move level on points with second-placed United, who sit two behind leaders Manchester City.
