Roberto Martinez believes that Everton must find a way of beating teams like Arsenal if they want to be successful in the later stages of cup competitions.
The Toffees face the Gunners in an FA Cup quarter-final match at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon, and Martinez says that Arsene Wenger's side will be tough to beat.
"There is never a good or bad time to face a top team. We admire Arsenal immensely for the team they are," Martinez told the Daily Post.
"They are as good as anyone when they get on the ball and have free movement. But if you want to be winning a competition like the FA Cup you have to find a way of being effective against a team like Arsenal."
Everton drew 1-1 at the Emirates in the league earlier this season.
