Arsene Wenger: 'We know we can beat Bayern Munich'

Arsene Wenger insists that his side can recover from the worst possible start to their Champions League campaign by beating Bayern Munich.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that his side can beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, despite labelling the German champions the "best side" in Europe.

The Gunners have endured a torrid start to their European campaign, losing to Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos in their opening two games to find themselves rooted to the bottom of Group F, while Bayern sit top with two wins from two.

However, Wenger is confident that his players can display their quality and produce a vital result to save their Champions League campaign against Pep Guardiola's side.

"I believe that the urgency from us will be different," he told BT Sport. "In Europe Bayern have the best side at the moment, they do not drop points.

"Are Bayern the underdogs? No, they are vastly favourites but I know that we can beat them. It is important for us to grow as a team that we can win this game. You never know how open it will be."
