League Two roundup: Wycombe Wanderers go top, Hartlepool United remain bottom

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League Two action as Wycombe Wanderers go top of the table with a 4-1 win over Cheltenham Town.

Hartlepool United struggled to lift themselves off the bottom of League Two after squandering a first-half lead to lose 3-1 to fellow relegation strugglers York City.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink remains unbeaten as the new Burton Albion boss as his side recorded an impressive 1-0 victory over 10-man Luton Town.

Wycombe Wanderers go top of the table after taking advantage of Cheltenham Town's early red card to win 4-1 away from home.

Tom Nichols scored a last-minute winner and his second of the game for Exeter City to knock Shrewsbury Town down into the playoff places, after City had gone two down in the first half.

Southend United beat lowly Tranmere Rovers 2-1 thanks to two first-half goals from Jack Payne, while Bury suffered a shock home defeat to Newport County as Aaron O'Connor scored a hat-trick for the visitors.

Mansfield, without departed manager Paul Cox, kept a clean sheet and recorded a win over playoff hopefuls Plymouth Argyle as Vadaine Oliver scored the game's only goal on the stroke of half time.

Jed Wallace scored a brace for Portsmouth, who comfortably beat Morecambe 3-0 and Accrington Stanley's Piero Mingoia bagged a double and both of their goals in their win over Cambridge United.

Dagenham & Redbridge came out victorious in a six-goal thriller with Carlisle United, with two goals coming from Ashley Chambers for the home side. Marc Richards scored the only goal in Northampton Town's win over Stevenage.

Oxford United and AFC Wimbledon played out the league's only goalless game as neither side were unable to break the deadlock.
