John Coleman "disappointed" by Accrington Stanley goalscoring record

John Coleman stresses the importance of finding the right balance between attack and defence at Accrington Stanley if they are to climb the League Two table.

Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman has acknowledged that his side need to add more goals to their game.

Stanley boast one of the meanest defences in League Two, having conceded just four times all season.

On the flip side, Accrington have found the net five times up the opposite end to make them the joint-lowest scorers in the division.

Coleman admits to being "delighted" by his side's defensive displays, but is now seeking some balance in order to climb further up the league table.

"I am delighted with us defensively, we are the joint lowest in the league for goals conceded and if we carry that through to the end of the season, we will make the playoffs," he told the club's official website. "But I am disappointed we are not scoring enough goals.

"I think as a fan and I want us to be entertaining, I want everyone to be on the edge of the seats – or in my case the wall! – and I want us to play attractive football, make chances and have thrills and spills.I know you can't have everything but that is something we are striving for."

Accrington are currently 10th in the fourth tier, sitting two points off a place in the top six.
