Fernando Torres: AC Milan move was "fate"

AC Milan striker Fernando Torres says that it was always his destiny to play for the club.

Fernando Torres has claimed that he was always destined to play for AC Milan.

The 30-year-old is on a two-year loan at the San Siro and has said that he came close to joining the club when he was at Atletico Madrid.

"Milan came in for me even during my time at Atletico. Demetrio Albertini also encouraged me to play in Italy," Torres told Panenka.

"And it is as if fate had expected me to be at San Siro. The coming together was only delayed, because the Rossoneri have always appreciated me and finally I have arrived here."

Torres has scored once in three appearances for Milan.
