Wednesday's Scottish Premiership predictions including Hibernian vs. Celtic

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Scottish Premiership fixtures, including Hibernian vs. Celtic.

Aberdeen vs. St Mirren (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Aberdeen play host to St Mirren on Wednesday evening looking to defend their two-point advantage in the race for third position in the Scottish Premiership standings.

Meanwhile, St Mirren make the long trip to Pittodrie looking to overtake Hibernian with fifth place the best that they can realistically achieve come the end of the week.

We say: Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirren

With Aberdeen having slipped up in recent matches, St Mirren will fancy their chances of causing another surprise on their travels. However, we feel that the Dons will do just enough to edge this contest, putting themselves on the brink of securing third position.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Hibernian vs. Celtic (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

In their final away game of the Scottish Premiership season, champions Celtic continue their victory tour at Easter Road, where they meet Hibernian on Wednesday.

The penultimate round of a gruelling campaign sees the Glasgow giants clash with a home side needing points to have any chance of stealing a top-four finish.

We say: Hibernian 1-2 Celtic

Celtic's dominance over Hibernian should extend to a fourth win of the season, as the champions resume normal service after a rare lull. Hibs' last chance of making the top four will therefore evaporate; leaving them watching the result of sixth-placed St Mirren nervously.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Rangers vs. Hearts (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Rangers welcome Hearts to Ibrox for their final Scottish Premiership home fixture of the season on Wednesday night.

While the hosts are merely playing for pride, the visitors are seeking to keep in touch with Aberdeen in the race for a top-three finish.

We say: Rangers 2-1 Hearts

Rangers have dominated this fixture in recent years and will be regarded as favourites to come out on top again on Wednesday, even with the absence of a number of first-team players.

Hearts really need to claim maximum points to have any chance of closing the gap to Aberdeen in third, but we can see the Gers securing a slender win in a closely-fought contest at Ibrox.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Dundee Utd vs. Kilmarnock (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Dundee United and Kilmarnock square off at Tannadice on Wednesday evening knowing that the result of this game could determine their fate in the Scottish Premiership.

The hosts, who are bottom of the table, trail the visitors by three points but with a superior goal difference, yet victory for Kilmarnock would leave Dundee United on the brink of relegation.

We say: Dundee United 2-1 Kilmarnock

On the back of their losing streak, Dundee United are up against it to respond with a potentially season-decisive win. Nevertheless, we are backing the home side to rise to the occasion at Tannadice, setting up a thrilling scenario for the final day.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Livingston vs. Motherwell (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Motherwell will be aiming to wrap up seventh spot in the Scottish Premiership by beating Livingston at Almondvale Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The hosts, meanwhile, would move above their opponents in the table with one match of the season remaining by defeating them.

We say: Livingston 1-2 Motherwell

Both teams will be keen to finish as the best of the rest in the bottom half of the Scottish Premiership table this season, but ultimately there is little pressure on either team's collective shoulders having secured their survival several weeks ago.

Motherwell have been a hugely improved outfit since appointing Kettlewell as their manager three months ago, and we expect them to secure seventh spot with yet another victory on Wednesday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Ross County vs. St Johnstone (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Ross County will continue to fight for their lives when they host St Johnstone at Global Energy Stadium in the Scottish Premiership Relegation Group on Wednesday night.

The Staggies are in need of a result in this contest to boost their chances of remaining in the division, whereas St Johnstone can play without fear in the knowledge that their top-tier status is secure.

We say: Ross County 2-1 St Johnstone

Ross County's first-tier fate is out of their own hands heading into the final two matches, although a clash with a safe St Johnstone side is a good opportunity to earn a much-needed maximum.

The Saints are wary of allowing standards to drop after victory on the weekend secured their Premiership status for another year, but we believe the Staggies' desperation for three points will lead to defeat for MacLean's men.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
