Phil Taylor beats both Adrian Lewis and Simon Whitlock in Birmingham to move up to second place in the Premier League table.

Phil Taylor produced two commanding performances to move into second position in the Premier League table.

The 16-time world champion averaged over 105 in recording a 7-2 triumph over Adrian Lewis, before he returned later in the night to average in excess of 103 in defeating Simon Whitlock 7-4.

Whitlock had earlier stunned Michael van Gerwen by winning the final four legs to earn a 7-5 victory over the world number two.

Raymond van Barneveld replaced James Wade in third place after a clinical display saw him defeat the left-hander 7-2.

In the night's other matches, Robert Thornton beat both Andy Hamilton and Lewis to move to within one point of a playoff place.
