Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen both earn comprehensive victories in Cardiff to remain challenging at the top of the Premier League table.

Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen lost just three legs as they both recorded comfortable wins on week seven of the Premier League in Cardiff.

Taylor averaged just over 101 as he easily recorded a 7-2 triumph over Wes Newton, while Van Gerwen roared to a 7-1 success over Gary Anderson, hitting a 164 checkout on the way to a 107 average.

Raymond van Barneveld kept pace with both players at the top of the table after he took the final leg to draw 6-6 with James Wade.

A 155 checkout in the ninth leg proved pivotal as Adrian Lewis continued his revival with a 7-5 win over Robert Thornton.

In the opening match of the evening, Andy Hamilton recorded an hard-fought 7-4 win over Simon Whitlock.
