Ronnie Baxter qualifies for the second round of the PDC World Championship along with Justin Pipe, Colin Lloyd and Simon Whitlock.

Ronnie Baxter has progressed to the second round of the PDC World Championship with a 3-1 victory over Dennis Priestley.

The 51-year-old won the first set inside just 10 minutes and then fought back in the second to take a 2-0 lead.

However, Priestley took advantage of Baxter's five missed darts in the third to halve the deficit, only for his fellow Englishman to win the fourth set and progress to the second round 3-1.

Justin Pipe too secured his place in the next round of the competition, beating Andy Jenkins 3-0 in the first match of Wednesday evening.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Colin Lloyd twice trailed against Darin Young but won their encounter 3-2 and Simon Whitlock of Australia beat Japan's Haruki Muramatsu 3-0.
