Half-Time Report: New Orleans Saints in control against Chicago Bears

Pierre Thomas scores two first-half touchdowns as the New Orleans Saints take a 20-7 lead into half time of their NFL match against the Chicago Bears.

Pierre Thomas scored two touchdowns in the second quarter to give the New Orleans Saints a 20-7 advantage at half time of their NFL match against the Chicago Bears.

The Saints were the first to register on the scoreboard when Garrett Hartley struck a 47-yard field goal midway through the first quarter.

The Bears then fumbled to gift the ball straight back to the Saints, but managed to restrict the visitors to a 19-yard field goal that made it 6-0.

The first touchdown of the match came midway through the second quarter as Thomas caught a short pass from Drew Brees for a two-yard touchdown, just managing to get the ball over the line before losing control.

Chicago did manage to get themselves on the scoreboard before half time when Alshon Jeffrey caught Jay Cutler's short pass for a three-yard score.

Thomas restored the 13-point lead soon enough, however, as he and Brees combined for their second touchdown of the day with 32 seconds left in the half.
