Martin Skrtel takes to Instagram to show off the head wound inflicted by Olivier Giroud's stray boot in yesterday's 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has revealed the full extent of the head wound inflicted during his side's 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

The 30-year-old centre-back was caught by Olivier Giroud's boot in the early stages of the second half at Anfield yesterday.

After undergoing lengthy treatment on the field to bandage up the cut, Skrtel was given the green light to continue, going on to score in the seventh minute of added on time to level things up.

Dissapoiting with the result but happy to scored that late goal and helped the team to get at least the point!

The club's medical staff revealed after the game that the Slovakia international required eight stitches to fix up the cut.
