Force India's 2015 car held back from second pre-season test

Force India will not run their 2015 car in the second pre-season test next week, the team confirms.

Force India's 2015 car will not appear at the second test in Barcelona next week, the team have confirmed.

The team didn't attend the first test in Jerez at all last week and they will run last season's car in Barcelona, but they hope to have their 2015 car ready for the final test which starts the following week.

Doubts over whether Force India will compete in the season-opening race in Australia have been refuted by the team, who insist that they will be ready for the race at Albert Park, Melbourne.

Deputy team principal Bob Fernley told Autosport: "We will be in Melbourne for the start of the season, there's no doubt about that.

"Yes, testing time with the new car will have been limited, but we are doing everything possible to make sure we arrive in Australia in reasonable shape and with as many miles on the car as possible."

The second pre-season test starts on Thursday.
