Benik Afobe: 'I'm now on same wavelength as Wolverhampton Wanderers teammates'

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Benik Afobe says that he now feels on the same "wavelength" as his teammates after spending over six weeks at Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Benik Afobe has admitted that he has started to adjust to Nuno Espirito Santo's style of play.

After returning to Molineux on deadline day, Afobe was made to wait for a chance in the starting lineup but the Bournemouth loanee has netted three goals in his last two outings for the Championship leaders.

Two of those strikes came during Saturday's 3-1 win over Burton Albion, and Afobe has acknowledged that he now feels on the same "wavelength" as his teammates.

The 25-year-old told the club's official website: "We've found some sort of wavelength now. The first few games for me were about adapting to the way the team plays and them adapting to the way I play. It's going well on the training pitch and I think that's showing on the matchdays now as well.

"Before the game, I spoke to Ruben [Neves] about trying to find space because we knew Burton were going to sit deep. He knows I like to get in behind so he said that his passes might not be over the top, they might be slide-balls along the floor.

"As I saw him driving towards me, I just pointed, made the move and I knew the pass was going to come. That's why I went over to him to celebrate after I scored the first one. That's what you do as a team, you look for each other and you talk and discuss the game."

Afobe has scored four goals in 307 minutes of football since linking back up with Wolves.
