Darren Fletcher looking for West Brom response against Tottenham Hotspur

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Darren Fletcher says that he and his teammates want to show 'what they are capable of' against Tottenham Hotspur.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Darren Fletcher has said that his side will be motivated to try to defeat Tottenham Hotspur despite all but assuring their Premier League status for another 12 months.

The Baggies produced what head coach Tony Pulis described as one of their poorest performances of the season when losing 2-0 to Arsenal on Thursday night to extend their losing run to three matches.

The West Midlands outfit sit nine points clear of safety with four games left and they have realistically done enough to remain in the top flight, but Fletcher insists that he and his teammates are still eager to cause a shock at White Hart Lane.

The 32-year-old told the Express & Star: "You want to be in the spotlight. You want to be involved in big games that people are watching. Every player responds to that challenge, for me it was always the bigger the game the greater the excitement, this is where I want to be.

"Tapping into that is really important for the players. I know everybody says we've reached 40 points already.

"Maybe that's enabled us to go and enjoy these games a little bit more with a little less pressure. But at the same time we want to go and show what we're capable of as a team."

West Brom will move into 11th place in the table if they can claim three points in North London.
