Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Spanish giants Barcelona.
Barca are understood to be in the market for extra defensive cover during the January transfer window following an injury to Samuel Umtiti.
TEAMtalk claims that they have identified Dier as a possible target due to his ability to play at centre-back or in central midfield, where he impressed for England during their win over Spain earlier this month.
The 24-year-old is currently contracted to Spurs until 2021, though, and Barcelona may be forced to wait until next summer at the earliest before being able to prise him away from North London.
Barca have also been linked with the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Toby Alderweireld and Dejan Lovren in their search for defensive reinforcements this winter.
