Mauricio Pochettino wants to build team around Emmanuel Adebayor?

A report claims that new Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is eager to use Emmanuel Adebayor as a lone striker next season.

New Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly identified Emmanuel Adebayor as one of his key players for next season.

During his stint at Southampton, the Argentine boss favoured a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Rickie Lambert the spearhead of the attack.

Recent reports had suggested that Togolese centre-forward Adebayor could be sold by Spurs this summer, but Pochettino believes that he has the quality to feature as his lone centre-forward, according to the London Evening Standard.

Adebayor, who joined Tottenham on a permanent basis from Manchester City in 2012, has two years left to run on his contract at White Hart Lane.
