Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino: 'Dele Alli has to stay grounded'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino insists that Dele Alli cannot get carried away by his impressive start to the season.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has urged Dele Alli to keep his feet on the ground following his bright start to the campaign.

The 19-year-old has had an impressive start to the season, which earned him a call-up to the England squad where he won his first cap for the Three Lions against Estonia.

Alli has continued to shine in the Premier League and put in another bright display in his side's 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, notching the second goal for Pochettino's men.

The Argentine told Sky Sports News: "We need to provide him with the tools to improve his game. He's young - I always repeat that the young players need to stay with their feet on the grass.

"This is very important, but when you have quality like he has, you need to push him, to put pressure and try to improve his game. But I'm very pleased with him and the whole team."

Alli joined Tottenham from MK Dons in a £5m move earlier this year.
