Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino suggests that January signing Lucas Moura will not be available for the Premier League fixture at Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Lucas Moura will not play any part of the Premier League fixture at Liverpool.

On Wednesday, Moura completed a transfer from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee reported to be £25m, and it had been anticipated that the Brazilian international would be on the bench for the game at Anfield.

However, while not ruling Moura out, Pochettino has indicated that the attacker will not be ready to make his debut for the club.

At a press conference, the 45-year-old told reporters: "He is still doing things. He was yesterday doing some tests with our sports science and medical staff.

"Today he is in Paris doing private things. We hope tomorrow he can stay here and start to work with the team. Maybe he needs to try to work a little bit alone to reach the same level as the team.

"I don't want to say yes or no, but I don't believe it'll be possible for him to be available."

Moura is ineligible for the FA Cup fourth-round replay with Newport County on Wednesday night, meaning that his debut could potentially be delayed until the North London derby with Arsenal on February 10.
