Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne has admitted that he and his teammates were satisfied to take a point from their clash against Aston Villa.
Clyne scored a late goal to rescue a draw for the Saints as they fell behind to a strike from Gabriel Agbonlahor in the first half following an error from Fraser Forster.
The 23-year-old feels that his side were the dominant team in the game, but believes that they could have performed better in the final third of the pitch.
Clyne told the club's official website: "You could see that we were the better side, our ball possession, we were dominant the whole game really.
"Aston Villa are a good team and a threat upfront. We knew it was going to be difficult to come here. We'll take the positives into the next game. We probably could have created more chances but at least we got a point and we'll move onto the next game. We kept fighting until the end.
"We needed to get back into the game so we pushed men forward. Both full-backs got forward and we got the goal from it so I'm very happy."
Southampton trail Chelsea by six points at the top of the table following their draw with Villa.
