Sadio Mane has given Southampton a 1-0 lead over Crystal Palace at half time at Selhurst Park in the Premier League this afternoon.

The visitors almost took the lead just a few minutes after kickoff when Toby Alderweireld caught out Julian Speroni with a deep ball into the box, but the crossbar came to the rescue of the Palace keeper.

Palace started to see more of the ball though, and almost broke the deadlock when Jason Puncheon his a powerful 20-yard effort against his old side, but Fraser Forster made the save.

The Saints managed to break the deadlock a few minutes later when Mane scored his second Premier League goal, working with James Ward-Prowse to play the ball in before rounding Speroni to slot into an empty net.

Mile Jedinak had a chance to equalise when the home side won a free kick, leaving the captain to try to tap in, but his scuffed effort was easily claimed by Forster to keep the visitors ahead.
