Cvitanich goal gives Nice all three points

Dario Cvitanich scores in the first half to win all three points for Nice against Sochaux.

Nice have defeated Sochaux 1-0 thanks to a first-half Dario Cvitanich goal.

It was a bright start for Nice and twice in the opening couple of minutes Cvitanich was denied by alert defending from Sochaux.

Didier Digard and Valentin Eysseric then both found themselves with a chance to score but neither man could find the target.

It was all Nice and they broke forward again with Eysseric, who hit the target with his shot this time, but it was comfortably saved.

Finally, just before the break, Nice did have a deserved lead through Cvitanich, who successfully converted a penalty.

Sochaux started the second half much better and could have levelled through Sebastien Roudet, however he shot over the bar.

There were to be no more goals in the contest and Nice took a deserved three points.
