Rennes held by Brest

Benoît Lesoimier and Charlison Benschop score for Brest in their 2-2 comeback draw with Rennes away from home in Ligue 1.

Brest have come from two goals down to hold Rennes to a 2-2 draw away from home in Ligue 1.

Both sides had chances to break the deadlock in the first half, but it took until the 62nd minute for the crowd at Stade de la Route de Lorient to see a goal.

It was the home side who pulled ahead as Julien Feret turned in Vincent Pajot's pass from the right side of the six-yard box.

Romain Alessandrini doubled his side's advantage in the 69th minute when he fired home from outside the Brest penalty box with his left foot.

However, two minutes later Benoit Lesoimier shot home from inside the area to halve the deficit for Brest.

Charlison Benschop completed the comeback for the visitors in the 87th minute when he headed home Lesoimier's delivery from close range.

Brest ended the game with 10 men after Ahmed Kantari was dismissed two minutes later, but that did not affect the final score.
