AS Monaco held by Rennes

Monaco are held to a 1-1 draw by Rennes which leaves them four points off leaders PSG in Ligue 1.

A late goal from Mahamadou Habib Habibou saw Rennes claim a 1-1 draw with AS Monaco in Ligue 1 this evening to leave Leonardo Jardim's men four points off Paris Saint-Germain at the top.

A quick attack down the right saw Ibrahima Toure deliver a ball into the box that Dimitar Berbatov just failed to connect with on 10 minutes.

Berbatov then saw a powerful volley saved shortly before the goal as the home side pressed for the breakthrough.

It finally came on 28 minutes when Bernardo Silva netted his sixth goal of the campaign with a smart finish.

Yannick Ferreira Carrasco came close to doubling Monaco's lead with a free kick that flew past the post just before the interval.

After the break, Monaco were left unhappy when Ferreira Carrasco was brought down inside the area, only to see the referee wave away penalty appeals.

Jardim's men had goalkeeper Danijel Subasic to thank for keeping the scores level when the Croatian denied Ola Toivonen with a reflex save with 11 minutes left.

However, Rennes were level with two minutes of normal time remaining as Habib Habibou struck to give the visitors a share of the spoils.
