Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has claimed that his team lost to Atletico Madrid at the weekend due to "an attitude problem".
Los Blancos have fallen 12 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona following their 1-0 defeat to Atletico at the Bernabeu on Saturday, but Zidane has dismissed suggestions that the loss was down to tiredness.
Instead, the Frenchman has blamed his team's attitude for the defeat and claimed that they "lost a lot of battles" on the field.
"We're doing well physically. For me, the defeat in the derby is not a question of fitness. That Atletico ran more than us is just data, for me we're doing well physically. It's other things," Zidane told reporters.
"We have to win our battles. We lost a lot of battles. I see the team improving and we are still going to improve more, too. I don't know if I'm convincing you. Yes, it's an attitude problem. What we have to do is make sure it doesn't happen again."
Real Madrid return to La Liga action away to Levante on Wednesday night.
