Head coach Steve Cooper says that Nottingham Forest are likely to oversee more arrivals than departures during the remainder of the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest head coach coach Steve Cooper has revealed that he expects to make further signings during the remainder of the summer transfer window.

The East Midlands outfit are currently preparing for their first Premier League fixture in 23 years after winning last season's Championship playoffs.

Despite the manner of his squad's performance since his arrival in September, Cooper has overseen an overhaul in personnel at the City Ground with 11 first-team additions.

While the expectation was that departures could now follow, Cooper has insisted that supporters should anticipate more fresh faces signing for the club.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Cooper said: "A number, I don't know, because it isn't a straightforward process with bringing a player in.

"Every signing and the way it is done will look different. I do think that there will be more ins than outs, but my focus on a day-to-day basis is the guys who are already here.

"I imagine we are being linked with all sorts of names and there may be some truth in it, but there will definitely be names where there is no truth at all."

Throughout the summer, Forest have been heavily linked with an approach for Wolverhampton Wanderers playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White, who worked with Cooper during their respective time with England Under-17s.

As it stands, however, Forest are yet to meet Wolves' valuation, said to be somewhere in the region of £30m, but Wolves would prefer to keep the player.

Addressing the signings which have already been made, Cooper has insisted that it was imperative that widespread alterations were made ahead of their return to the top flight.

Cooper added: "We knew it was going to be more of a change than normal. In an ideal world we would have liked to have carried on with big parts of the team from last season and just added where we think we really needed, but it was never going to be the case.

"We have no alternative than to make the number of changes we have had to make and are continuing to do so. Internally it's not a surprise, it's something we were ready for.

"It's not always a straightforward process in bringing players in as we're learning as we are going along. But we are all calm inside, we are very happy with what we have done so far."

Forest kick off their Premier League campaign against Newcastle United at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon.
