Morecambe stay top of League Two

Morecambe stay top of League Two thanks to a 1-0 win against Oxford United.

Morecambe have maintained their 100% record to stay top of League Two thanks to a 1-0 win against Oxford United.

Kevin Ellison's first-half goal was enough for the home side, who stay top of the division above Burton Albion by way of goal difference.

Ellison netted the winner on 39 minutes when he headed a close-range cross into the roof of the net.

Earlier in the game Ellison had gone close with another header, but his 26th-minute effort was too high to trouble the goal.

Carlton Morris and Tom Newey both had efforts for the visitors but they both went over the bar prior to the opening goal.
