Millwall manager Gary Rowett is "not reading too much" into the report that Brentford are interested in his winger Tyler Burey.

Millwall manager Gary Rowett has given his thoughts on the recent Tyler Burey links to Brentford.

The Bees are reportedly interested in signing the Championship winger, with the Premier League outfit keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.

Burey has featured seven times for the Lions, scoring twice after he returned from a loan period with Hartlepool during the first half of the season.

"I think that is a little bit too easy for my liking that I mentioned after the last game [against Derby] that it will not be long before clubs are looking at Tyler, a throwaway remark when we were talking about Jed [Wallace] and his contract," Rowett told London News.

"Then the next thing you know, lo and behold, a Premier League club has been monitoring him, even before he has played for us. I am not reading too much into it. It is a young player who has done really well. He is a young player I really, really like and I have shown that in the last 18 months."

Millwall will be back in action on Saturday when they face Reading, while Brentford are facing Norwich City.
