Christian Stuani finalises move to Middlesbrough

Uruguay international Christian Stuani finally completes his move to Middlesbrough after receiving international clearance to join the Championship side.

Middlesbrough have finally confirmed the completed transfer of Christian Stuani from Espanyol.

A fee between the two clubs was agreed last month for the Uruguay international, but Boro only received international clearance today.

Stuani, who will wear the number 18 shirt, scored 12 goals in 37 La Liga appearances last season.

Boro also handed head coach Aitor Karanka a new four-year contract this morning ahead of Sunday's opening match of the season at Preston North End.
